Freedom is a State of Mind
Happy Monday! It’s hard to believe that we are already in the month of July.
For this week’s #MondayMotivation post, I wanted to do something a bit more patriotic since the 4th of July is only two days away, and our sermon at church yesterday gave me some inspiration.
Our pastor preached out of Galatians Chapter 5, and the first verse of this chapter really spoke to me:
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
– Galatians 5:1 (NIV)
What better motivator is there than God’s own words?!
Then, when I found this quote yesterday evening, I knew this is what I wanted to run with for this week’s post.
”Freedom is a state of mind…”
That means that we each are able to make the decision as to whether we will live our life freely or be “enslaved” by whatever comes against us whether it be people, culture, business, addiction or even ourselves.
Though we may deserve it, God did not create us to be overpowered by forces around us, to constantly live in darkness and fear. God meant for us to be able to live freely and boldly in the work that He has set for us. We are called to stand firm and believe wholly and fully in the freedom and grace that He provide for us through his son.
No matter the country you live in, the color of your skin, the state of your economy/politics, the number on a scale, you and you alone have the choice to embrace freedom.
We all have our hills and valleys in this crazy life, and there are days where we feel like we may never break out of the chains and bondage that life constantly runs at us with, but we can find peace in that we have the ultimate freedom. And that freedom can NEVER be taken away from us.
This week (and every week) let us be thankful for the freedom we have in this country, let us be thankful for the brave men and women who sacrifice a little or sacrifice all to give us that luxury, but most importantly, let us be thankful for God a who loves and will never fail us.
So, let’s celebrate freedom! I hope y’all have a great week and a great Independence Day!!!
P. S. I styled up our front porch this morning to get these pictures, and it was so fun! I’ll share the rest with you later this week! 🙂
Happy Monday!
Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like
