Do It On Purpose

Happy Monday peeps! I was reading LeAnne and Steve Ford’s book Work in Progress this past week, and Chapter 4 starts out with this quote from Dolly, and I thought “What a great way to think!” (Oddly enough I recently visited Dollywood for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and then watched the Coat of Many Colors movie the other day… Dolly’s talking to me, y’all! 😆)
For me, I want this to be the quote for 2020. I think we spend as much time apologizing for who we are, what we say, what we do, how we feel… When really we’re saying “sorry for being me.” And because of that, we struggle to even know who we want to be. I truly believe that we all have a purpose, a reason for being here, and sometimes that purpose isn’t clear, and sometimes we don’t have the ability to make it our #1 priority… but that doesn’t mean that it’s not important.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us.”
– Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
This year I hope to make time to really figure out what it is that makes me happy, that keeps me going, that makes me smile, and I encourage you to do the same. It’s already in you. It’s already out there. We just have to find it and make that connection. And WE CAN DO IT!
So, whether you’re applying this to your job, your hobbies, or your life in general, find out who YOU are and do it ON PURPOSE.
