Forget The Numbers
Happy Monday, Friends!!! Thanks for stopping by the blog today. I wanted to take a second to share some “Monday Motivation” to start the week stemming from this quote:
I typically look through numerous quotes on Pinterest searching for something that speaks to me when getting ready for my Monday Motivation post, and this is what spoke to me last night.
In today’s society, we base so much of our worth on numbers… how many followers do we have, how many likes did our last post get, how much money is in our bank accounts, how high are our grades…. and whatever numbers we answer those questions with are often what we base our self-worth off of.
Do you see the problem with that? We are completely giving up control over how we view ourselves, and letting that power rest with other people, in some cases total strangers.
I’m not saying having lots of money or all A’s or tons followers is bad!!!! Those are things that many of us strive towards; however, if those things are all we are using to measure our worth, we’ve got a problem.
You see, each of us is completely unique and we were put here in the time, place and circumstance that we currently find ourselves for a reason. I have no doubt of that!
The Bible says in Genesis 1:27
So God created man in His own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them
You were created in God’s own image! Therefore, you were not a mistake.
And you have a unique purpose that no one on this earth can fulfill but you! Jeremiah 29:11 says
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
So, when you’re feeling useless and downtrodden or when you think there’s no hope, find comfort in the fact that there is absolutely no one else that can do what you can do and that you are important no matter what!
Forget the numbers and comparisons!
Focus on you.
Have a great week, my friends! ๐
