Hey peeps! I’ve been spending this week on vacation at Myrtle Beach! Hip hip hooray!

If you caught my Instagram stories, you know I was on the search for a couple of good books to bring along, so I thought I’d share what I brought…

1. The Assistants by Camille Peri

I brought this book along the last time we were at the beach, and it’s become one of my favorites! Two assistants at a big media company come up with a scheme to pay off their student loan debt by doubling their bosses business reimbursements and routing one to their bosses account and one to their personal account. They quickly get deeper and deeper into their mess as more people at the company get involved… It’s a great story!

2. Dare to Lead by Brene Brown

I’m about halfway through this book (hoping to finish in the next day or two.) It’s a great book on daring leadership and how to lead from a position of comfort and boldness rather than one of fear and timidity. Author Brene Brown shares the findings from her extensive research on leadership: the struggles she’s faced, the problems she’s helped coach other leaders through and the success she’s found through various leadership practices.

3. Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

This book has been recommended to me multiple times, so I’m excited to read it! I haven’t started it yet, but interested to see what all the fuss is about 😀

4. A Discovery of Witches By Deborah Harkness

I found this book while searching for something to bring along, and I got it because I watched the first season of the TV show and really liked it! It looks like it’s a whole book series (which makes me hopeful for a long-running show), so I’m starting with the first book and will see where it goes. They always say the books are better than anything that’s on the screen, and so far that’s proven to be true! I’m about 15 chapters in and it’s a very captivating story line.

So, that’s what I’ve been reading this week! I’m hoping to get all the way through at least two of them (which is about how many I read when we come… yes, I’m “white and nerdy!” Don’t be judgin’ 😀 )
