Happy Friday peeps!!! It’s been a minute… I’m still here just trying to make it through the craziness of life. In a world that’s now full of face masks, debates of all kinds, lots of “unknowns” and way fewer trips to Target, it’s easier to see the “glass” as half-empty, but let me tell you that his time has led me to a few new (and some not so new) favorite things, and that’s what I’m sharing with you today!
So, let’s talk about some fun stuff…
1. Blue Hydrangeas

If you’ve seen any of my recent posts to Instagram/the blog you know that these pretty flowers are bringing some smiles around here! I don’t think there will ever be a time when I don’t love these flowers!
2. Ben Platt Music

One positive about all this down-time is the new media you can stumble upon, whether it’s new TV shows, movies or even music. I’ve started listening to a lot of Ben Platt’s music on Spotify, and y’all… I can cut it off! From the Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack to the “Found/Tonight” mash up, it’s all great stuff. Some of my favorites include…
- “Grow as We Go”
- “In Case You Don’t Live Forever”
- “Share Your Address”
3. Hamilton

If you want to be “Satisfied” with some more music while “It’s Quiet Uptown,” you need to be checking out Hamilton! Don’t “Wait for It” to just pop up, go on and look it up… “That Would Be Enough.”
(If you’ve seen/listened to it, you’ll know what I did there! π )
4. The All Souls Trilogy

I’ve also been doing some reading and finished a series I mentioned starting in an early blog post this summer. Y’all, I could NOT put these books down! I think I read all three within four weeks. It was that good!
If you like some historical fiction mixed with some supernatural/Syfy aspects, I think you could easily get into this! It follows the star-crossed love story of Diana Bishop, college professor/witch, and Matthew Clairmont, college professor/1500-year-old vampire. To me, their story is kind of like mixing Outlander with Twilight…
That probably sounds like an awful description, but I promise it’s GOOD!
5. Equestrian Accents

I recently restyled the shelves in my TV stand after my mom gave me this very pretty bronze horse that was my great-grandmother’s. She said she remembered that it’s what Mawmaw used to prop a bedroom door open, and it will forever be one of my favorite things that I own! β€

I used it along with some bookends that I got at a thrift store and chalk painted to “whip”-neigh-neigh these shelves into shape! πππ (You can read more about the bookends HERE!)

So, that’s what I’m digging at the moment! Hope this inspires you to pick some fresh flowers, find a new book, listen to some new tunes or even put a horse in your house! ππ
Happy Friday peeps!
