[…] 2. A Summer Scape for Motherβs Day […]
Hi Friends! Thanks for checking out the blog today.
For Mother’s Day this year, I decided to go with a “Lemon” theme after deciding to make a Lemon Bundt Cake from Joanna Gaines’ new cookbook “Magnolia Table.” (You can read more about that HERE.)
I remembered seeing a really pretty lemon-printed table cloth in Homegoods a few weeks ago, and once I decided to go this route, I was wishing I had picked it up.
I decided to go back to look, and they had this one, which is almost the exact same print!
It wasn’t a round cloth like I needed, but I made it work by placing it on top of a floor length round white cloth, which added another layer to the tablescape.
For each place setting, I used a plain white plate that came from IKEA. I placed a white sackcloth napkin on top, a piece of greenery that came from Kroger’s floral section, a clear plastic dessert plate, and a faux lemon from Hobby Lobby.
I used simple silverware and clear tumblers with a lemon slice on the rim.
I used the cake as the centerpiece with lemon wedges as garnish and more greenery and faux lemons around the base of the Cake Plate (which was also a Homegoods find!)
I also picked up a copy of the latest “Country Home” magazine as a gift for my mom.
The other food item was these cute Pepperidge Farm cookies! I loved the spring prints on each one!
The color yellow is supposed to represent “happiness”, and this tablescape most definitely accomplished that for both me and my mother.
I had so much fun putting it together, and I think the final outcome reflects that joy!
Feel free to comment with any questions, or DM me on my social media platforms which are linked at the bottom of my site!
I hope y’all had a wonderful mother’s day!
