To be great

Happy Monday peeps! Who’s ready for another week? This past weekend was a special one because on Saturday we celebrated my niece’s 7th birthday party, and yesterday was my 3-year “Blogiversary!” I plan on sharing more on Fenley’s party later this week, but I do want to take a quick moment to say thanks for being here.
3 years ago I clicked “Publish” on my first blog post on DylanKade’sBlog.com, and I’m not sure that I believed then that I’d still be posting here 3 years later. Thankfully, I am! I love sharing my thoughts and ideas here, and I thank you for following along with the craziness that is Dylan Kade Duke. Starting out, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to this site to be. I had tried blogging before and had quite because I thought my posts weren’t good enough or my ideas were dumb or my website would never be that great because I didn’t post everyday like other people. But, then one day in September of 2017, I said, “You know what, if other people can do this, I can, too.”
Sometimes starting is the hardest part. Where to begin? What to do? How to go about it? But there’s another popular quote that goes something like “We miss 100% of the shots we don’t take…”
Anything you do that you feel is worth doing will take work. It will take time and planning and effort and then a little more time and planning and effort, but greatness doesn’t happen over night. And I believe we are all capable of greatness.
We’re entering a new season, and maybe this is your time to try that thing you’ve always wanted to do! Now, I’m not saying drop everything around you and do something crazy (which if you can do that, go for it!), but I am saying to start taking baby steps towards that thing you’ve always wished you could do!
If it’s blogging, start a free page on a site like WordPress. If it’s learning a language, download one of those free apps to start working towards that. If it’s learning a new school, start researching classes you might could take. If it’s visiting a place you’ve always wanted to go, start a savings plan and work that into your budget. Whatever it is, take the steps towards because starting is key to achieving greatness.
“And though your beginning was small, your latter days will be very great…”
