Hi friends! I wanted to share a quick post about a few changes I’ve made in the living room for summer.
I had added a little more color for the spring months, but wanted to go back to neutrals with some black accents this warmer season.
I believe that neutrals are timeless, and they are what I always grativate towards. A simple, “muted” palette is also great because no matter how many different items you mix and match, as long as they’re in the white/cream/grey/black family, they’ll likely work together just fine.
So, here’s the result of my summer styling:
I brought back my many, many white/neutral pillows for the daybed for a fresh, airy look.
I love my curtains. They are simple, but match my cottage/farmhouse style. AND I got them on clearance at Target for under $20! #HollaForADolla 😀 The material is similar to drop cloth, but they have a lace trim that gives more of a vintage feel.
The shelving of my TV stand got loaded with my vintage books. I turned their spines to the back to get more texture and a more neutral look by displaying their pages alongside other neutral decor including picture frames, clocks, etc.
This corner got the biggest dose of black accents through the chalkboard, printed pillow, striped throw, side table, vase and candle sticks, but I added a bit of faux greenery to soften the space.
With the longer days and Georgia heat that come with this time of year, it’s nice to come home and feel like you can take a breath, relax and be at peace in your space.
I think the last post I did sharing my living room was back in February. You can take a look at it HERE to get a better idea of the changes I’ve made for a new season.
I don’t know about you, but for me, making simple changes in decor makes a room feel completely different. And I love the feeling of consistently having a “new space” because not only do you get a new look, you can tap into so much creativity and challenge yourself to be more resourceful and strategic in the decisions regarding your home.
I hope you enjoyed this post, and, as always, thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great day, friends!
