Gather Around the Table
Fall is truly my favorite season, from the pumpkins to leaves to the mums and everything in between. A couple of posts back, I talked about the transformation of this table, and mentioned that I had some big ideas for it, and here’s how one turned out!
I envisioned setting this up outside with a table-scape for Thanksgiving. (And BTW, it was a struggle getting this together because, of course, I decided to do it on the day where it looked like it was going to come a thunder storm at any second… but thankfully the rain held off, and I got to pull this all together!)
I started with these linen table runners that were originally from the dollar spot at Target, but I got these at Bargain Hunt for $0.50 a piece! (#HollaForADolla 😀 ) They’re a bit short, so it took two for me to get the length I wanted on each side.
Then, I used the pumpkins from our front porch and just mixed them down the middle.
Next, I used these antiqued gold/bronze chargers that I picked up at Michael’s a while back from their clearance section. They are the perfect color for fall, and will be great for winter as well.
Next, came the dinner plates. I wanted to keep it simple by using plain white.
Then, I added these cute little saucers from Michaels. I bought these when their fall items were on sale (60%) off, and they had ones with different words like “family”, “friends”, “thankful”, etc… but I loved these “gather” ones, so I bought all of mine to match.
I then added these simple natural linen napkins… I didn’t want these to be done in any type of “fancy fold” and didn’t want perfectly straight edges. I think having them a little “imperfect” makes the table look more natural and “homey”.
Simple silverware was my next addition.
Followed by these pretty tumblers!
And lastly, I added these small vintage glasses… (I didn’t prepare any food for this shoot, but I think these we be perfect for serving a dessert!)
And, finally, I added some candles! I used plain white tapered candles to keep it simple, but there is a mixture of clear glass holders. Most of them are some thrift store finds, and by mixing and matching them, some more texture is added to the table.
And there you have it: A beautiful table for set for Thanksgiving meal!
I absolutely love how this turned out! One of my favorite projects to date (even if it was 5 seconds away from storming…)
Hopefully this gives you a little bit of inspiration for your Thanksgiving Table, and shows that you can keep it simple and still have it be beautiful!
