Be a Voice
Happy Monday! Y’all, I love this quote, “Be a voice, not an echo.” It’s another way of saying be unapologetically you.
We are all different from each other, and those differences show God’s workmanship. He wanted to create me and you and everyone else in a special way with special gifts and talents and opinions that are unique to us. Doesn’t that make you happy?!
I just googled how many people are on earth right now, and it’s approximately 7.63 billion. So, actually you’re not one in a million, you’re not even one in a billion. You are one in 7.63 billion! And out of all of those people, God took the time to make you just like you are!
My point in saying all that is that you were made to be you. Maybe you have amazing new ideas that you’ve yet to share, or maybe you’re hiding your talent because you are afraid of the judgement. That fear is what cripples us.
A lot of times, we choose to be an echo of what’s going on around us. Peer pressure doesn’t end just because you graduate high school, and in order to avoid looking different or stupid or “un-cool”, we choose to be an echo of the madness around us rather than being our own voice.
Let me tell you that your voice is powerful enough to make a diffence in the world!
1 Corinthians 1:26-30 says this:
26) For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27) But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28) God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are 29) so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. 30) And because of him, you are in Christ Jesus who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption.
God isn’t one to follow the social “trends” of the world because his word explains the way we are called to live. And the “trends” God set will never go out of style! He uses the foolish and the weak and what the world hates to show his power and mercy, and I know that many time he does that through his people, everyday people like me an you.
So, be a voice, a voice for what is right and forget about being and echo of the craziness in today’s world!
Have a great week, friends!
