Christmas time is almost here! Can you believe it?! So, today we are talking about what’s trending in the Christmas decor sector!
Every year it seems like there are some big trends that retailers really push and that all of us home decor enthusiasts go for. I’ve narrowed it down to four big trends for this year that I’m seeing all over the place. So let’s take a look at what they are and some retail sources where you can find “the look” for yourself!
1. Buffalo Check
It’s everywhere… and I’m not mad about it! I personally don’t have anything at the moment with this particular patterns, but I’ve found a few items that I may be purchasing in my future!
Whether it’s pillows, furniture, wrapping paper or rug, home makers and designers alike are turning to this pattern for some of their Christmas inspiration this year.
We’re seeing it in Joanna Gaines’ Hearth and Hand Line as well as popular home bloggers on Instagram, and it’s not just the traditional red and black that they’re picking up. It’s all sorts of variations.
2. Eucalyptus
I personally love eucalyptus for anytime of year, especially the flat leaf variety, and apparently many others do too this Christmas.
This versatile greenery can add texture to any Christmas decor whether it be wreaths, garlands, centerpieces or even your Christmas tree!
Many people are using this to fill out there normal Christmas wreaths and garlands because it’s an easy and relatively inexpensive way to get a fresh look.
3. “Naked” Trees
I am seeing this on so many other blogger’s pages/instagrams! This year, people are just adding lights to their trees and calling it a day, and that’s what I plan on doing for our front porch this year!
I pulled the above picture from google, and the below is from the “Dreamy Whites” blog! I love her style so much and have been following her on Instagram for quite some time! (To see more of her style, you can follow the link to her blog under the “My Favorite Blogger” tab.
I think the simplicity of a plain tree is so beautiful and refreshing… [sigh]
4. Simple, Stylish Tree Bases
And last, but definitely not least, the Tree base trends! There are so many options when it comes to the base of your tree, and this year people are using any and everything. I’ve seen people using baskets like this tree below…
Galvanized bases and buckets are also showing up under the trees this year! This one below is from Chip and Jo’s Hearth and Hand Collection.
But these collars are practically everywhere this year… Walmart, Homegoods, Target, Michaels… everywhere!!! And they definitely add style to any tree.
And then, of course, there’s the traditional (or sometimes not so traditional) skirts/blankets/fabrics used to hide the tree stand.
So don’t be afraid to switch up your tree base this year. You’ll definitely be fitting the trend!
Hopefully this post gives you a few ideas and a little inspiration for your Christmas decorating this year! “Decking the Halls” is always a favorite activity of mine, and I’ll be sharing some original content featuring my Christmas decor very soon!
Happy Decorating, Friends!!!
I love your blog, but I hope you don’t mind some constructive criticism. Your posts would really pop and be more captivating if you worked on your writing style some. For example you used a variation of “showing up all over the place” like 4-5 times, and many exclamations. There would be more merit in you explaining why the trend is popular or why you like it and how to incorporate it into my home. You don’t really have to reiterate that people are using it since the post title has trending in it.
Keep up the good work, you’re extremely talented and creative!
Thank you for your feedback! I will definitely keep that in mind for future posts.
