A Table for Any Season

Hi friends! I’ve been in the mood to do a tablescape lately, so I finally took time one morning to play around with some things. I think tablescapes are always fun to put together, this one is perfect for any season.

Three main items served as the inspiration for this table. First is the “goldware” I picked up at Target when it was on clearance. Each piece was only $0.60, so I got 12 pieces for less than $8.00!

Second is the set of Pioneer Woman bowls that I found at a local thrift store. They look to be in perfect condition. I looked them up online and found them listed HERE on Walmart’s site for just under $16.00…. and I paid $4.50! #HollaForADolla 😀

And third was this beautiful Magnolia Leaf Garland from The Blue Hydrangea, which you can find HERE!

The stemware I used (both the drinking glasses and the small champagne glasses), we already had. I know the champagne glasses came from a thrift store as well, but not too sure about the source for the others.

This magnolia garland is very versatile. You could easily put it on a mantle or even drape it over a mirror, but I’ve chosen to use it as a table runner.

While I’ve kept simple here, you could dress it up further by adding some votives and tapered candles in clear holders. I think that would be gorgeous for a simple, holiday table!

If you read last week’s Friday Favorites post, you know I’m currently into gold/brass  utensils, so I love these! This color is unexpected and really pops on any table.

Let me tell you a little bit more about how I create a place setting…

How To Create A Place Setting

When it comes to place settings, I say “Have Fun!” Don’t be afraid to mix and match or add texture. I think it looks impressive to add many pieces together.

While I often use dishes in whites or creams, you could easily add in some color and pattern. For example, you could keep the white base, add a patterned dinner plate, use a more textured napkin with some sort of trimming and a solid bowl that matches a color in the dinner plate.

Just have fun with it, and if you don’t like what you do, try something else. There are no rules!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this quick post of mine and are inspired to dress up your table. Comment below with your place setting/tablescape ideas!

As always, thank you for stopping by the blog and Happy Decorating!!!
