Thy Will Be Done

Happy Monday, Friends! I feel bad about not getting anything posted last week, but I’ve got a few posts that are almost ready to go up!

But, I wanted to start this week off with some #MondayMotivation! And, this in this phrase is the ultimate empowerment.

I think we all struggle with the idea of “Letting go, and letting God.” Today’s world is so focused on instant gratification. And, don’t get me wrong, 2-day shipping is a wonderful thing, but we have to come to the realization that things aren’t always going to happen in our time frame.

I consider myself a planner, so as you can imagine, I have a rough timeline already in place for the rest of my life…. going back to college in a year, married in the next 5-6 years, kids in my early thirties, becoming a professor in my late thirties/early forties… and that’s like the very general overview…

But, as I sit here writing this, I realize that there’s a good chance that none of that will happen in my time frame…. and that’s ok, because my God is in control, and he’s got it all mapped out so much more beautifully than I ever could.

Knowing and believing in that should ease our anxiety and should give us comfort, but unfortunately it’s not alway in the forefront.

Have you heard the song “Thy Will” by Hillary Scott? It has some of the most beautiful lyrics, and the chorus is only these four words over and over

Thy will be done

And whenever I hear that song, I feel empowered to face anything because I know God’s going to handle it in his time and his way.

Right now, I’m facing the anxiety of job searching and fully diving in to life after college, but there’s peace in knowing that everything will work out just like it’s supposed to.

There’s a verse in Proverbs that says…

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

Proverbs 19:21

If you’re facing a challenge in life right now, know that God’s got you and that He’s in complete control. Plans may not work out and our timeline may get thrown out the window, but there is a reason for us to keep our peace.

And while it may not be easy, you’ll find peace in saying

Thy will be done.

Have a wonderful week, friends!
